That is all well and good - you do have to communicate and then decide what is right for you. Is he still going away for his job?

Just take it slow and be careful.

He is no longer working 2 jobs but he does travel a lot for the one he has--usually in this general area but occasionally as far as Chicago.

Is this the guy who disappeared for a weekend and then you saw something posted on his myspace from another girl about her birthday? Or am I mixing this up with someone else's post? Just asking, not being mean!

OK! Just remember that he is on PROBATION with you! One of the best things a friend taught me is that the first 6 months is their probation period. Until then don't get too wrapped up with them. Just sit back and see how they handle the dating process and you can get an idea of who they are, not just the person they seem to be at first.
Don't assume you are exclusive and make him prove himself to you. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks Steph--I think that is a good plan, 6 months probation is probably a good thing on both sides...

Sometimes, it just comes down to communication and communication styles.

oh how I wish someone had told me this or similar xxx years ago!!!

It sums up sooooo much of what I myself did wrong with actually my 3 LTRs - the first being my kids dad.

AWESOME advice which I will not hesitate to pass on to any other single mom friends too.

Another good tidbit she gave me was "never put more into them than they put into you." I wish I known that when I first started dating! Would have saved me alot of heartache with guys that were not nearly as interested in me as I was in them!

thats a great one too, and I am passing on to a particular g/f who tends to have probs with this one, I myself tended to have more probs with the other one more than this one.
