Update on RG and feel like giving up

Well not giving up on RG in particular, just giving up on dating. Had my fill recently.

RG and I are still together. He feels he can committ when the time is ready and his religion wont get in the way. He thought I pulled back. I thought he pulled back. But at any rate we are moving forward and had a good day on Monday.

One of the pilots I as talking to but had not yet met just informed me that he is married. "oh by the way...". Turns out he was separated for over a year. His wife left him for his best friend. Then she left his best friend (who is also married) to come back to her husband because his best friend was seeing another woman. So that makes him seeing his wife another woman and her. Can we say tangled mess?!

I am SO tired of the men, thier screwed up lives and the disappearing ones. I am so tired of the whole thing. So I guess it makes staying with RG a good thing, even though its moving a turtles pace.

Sorry Mark. Not including you in the 'men' generalization.

Wow, Laurie-

That whole pilot thing IS a mess. I'd step away from that trouble. He sounds way too "in it" still...plus HE's still married?? What in the world is he doing dating?

I'm sure it's a bit frustrating when you feel like going at a faster pace than RG. You mentioned his religion as his main reason? In what way does that hold him back? Do you both practice the same faith but at different levels?

Well I don't pretend to represent my gender nor to hold myself up as someone who is a role model either.

"I wonder after the second date and am not interested, should I call the woman back and tell her that or just not call anymore?"

Ok- I'll bite on this one.

I agree with Alison on this one. I think you should probably drop her an email, very brief and sooner rather than later. I wouldnt wait to hear from her either because to me it is polite to be in touch in some way soon after a date and it is good to let her know it isnt a match for you. The other reason I think this is necessary is because the world is too small not to. Just in case she is into you, let her down now so that she isnt stinging so bad if/when you run into each other.

Oh yeah. I backed out of that mess real quick. If they are dating and separated they need to tell you that up front. Not oh by the way.

RG believes the bible literally. I believe it figuratively. Not that big of a difference. I think the big difference is he is less experienced with women and relationship than I am. I am more 'worldly'.

Mark,

Thanks. I suggest you call or email her and tell her. Its better to know up front than to be wondering. I can handle the truth but then again I speak for myself. Anyone want to chime in?

On the surface, perhaps not.

So far the religion thing hasnt been an issue. Most of it was confusion on both of our parts. A misunderstanding. He believes what he wants and I believe what I want. Fortunately we wont be raising children together.

"Fortunately we wont be raising children together."

But you HAVE children, and he will at some point be an influence in their lives.
