Valentine's Day plans?

So what have you got planned for Valentines?

I don't have a date tomorrow... Tonight my church is taking out the single moms and providing child care. That's so cool!! I'm thinking of flirting with the waiter or atleast making eye contact with some hot guy I see in the restaurant.

Tomorrow night I offered free babysitting for another single mom I know and a married couple. I haven't heard back, yet. I should email them again to let them know the offer still stands.

Happy Valentine's Day,

LB

No plans here... it's always hard to get a mid-week date in, with Hiker and I both having kids who have things going on, on a school night!

But he did say he was going to stop by in the evening to bring me "your Valentine's"- so I have NO idea what he is bringing. HE is Valentine's enough for me- and I get him all year long. :-)

~shrimpy, who will be bouncing between 2 kids' V-day class parties on Wed. afternoon!

I've never been really big on Valentine's day.

I guess it is going to be me and my dogs. DS's dad is taking him for the evening because he has a football game. But DS just sprained his ankle - so maybe there is a chance I will get to keep him?!

Otherwise it will just be another quiet work evening here.

My SO is coming over. We're having a very romantic dinner of corn dogs, baked beans, and beer :)

We'll exchange our presents.

I usually buy my dd a small box of chocolates and for myself because I am my own sweetheart, I will treat myself to some chocolates as well.
I would buy myself a lovely bouquet of flowers, but they triple the price on
VD day here.

I Love what your church is doing, wish I had something like that here.

My bf work nights at a restaurant so its big tip night for him and a night with my son for me. Depending on the weatherman and schools tomorrow, maybe we will do a V day lunch. We had a rather heated argument on Sunday so I am still working on the valentines day mood to be honest:( I need to work harder at not getting into heated discussions before potential romantic holidays I think!!

I abhore National Singles' Awareness Day, and have since I was a child. No doubt because I was not given the cool card in my little red envelope by the kid I had a crush on or something. I'm sure a hatred this deep must have an extremely valid reason.

Anyhow, I plan to do what I've done for years. Nothing.

Well, that isn't exactly true. I always order flowers for my two best friends, get my parents each a card and some candy, and get the kids each a gift. This year it's scrapbooking kits and candy, since they both enjoy scrapbooking with my mother.

I also always get myself a little something- this year I bought myself two new books I've been wanting to read, a cute new coffee mug for work, and booked my spa day for next weekend.

Even if I were in a romantic relationship, I would do all of the things I mentioned. They're my traditions, with my true valentines. I also think that I'm pretty awesome, and it doesn't take a special day for me to deserve flowers and chocolates. I'd be much more impressed with a man who brought them just because, and showed his love for me all year long.

M is in Denver this week so no fun for Valentine’s day for me. But he did plan ahead and gave me a huge orchid plant yesterday. What is funny about that is that orchids and sunflowers are my favorite flowers, but he was clueless and thought he’d bought tulips that I could plant outside. I don’t know how he had the subliminal mix up and got an orchid instead, but I think it’s lovely, even though it doesn’t stand a chance of surviving in my house. I’m thinking about giving him a six pack of beer (pricier stuff than he usually drinks) and a CD. That might be lame. Anyone have good BF gift ideas?

Here I am at work. The funny thing is that I almost did not come to work today. DS had a feaver of 103 last night and I thought about staying at home today. then I remembered that the BF called me yesterday and asked what the sign on my building said I told him and they of course stupid me said "Why?" he said not to worry about it so since grandma is home and taking care of the baby I thought I better come to work and see what is in store here today. the 30 min of over time is a plus we just sent out our program updates and call volumes are expected to be high ( MS vista just released and our software is nto yet totally compatable yet so here we go again.... I wonder how long we are going to be on manditory overtime... SIGH!!!!)

I got BF a stuffed Tiger that is wearing a motorcycle jacket and some balloons. and I am going to take it to him at work this after noon. Since his job moved him to another shop that is close to my house. I was dreading having to drive an extra 30 min on top of the hour I have to drive home.

I also wanted to add that I got flowers..... a dozen 6 red and 6 pink. I felt bad because I can only guess how much he spent. so I bought him 2 roses along with some baloons also and gave him the tiger as well. it cost me 20 bucks for 2 roses so I can jsut imagine how much it cost him for 12.

But that'a love and life. and he did tell me that he loves me. :0)
