Okay - this is a killer day for those not dating - because I know all too well how it feels not to have a special someone to be your Valentine. I know. I can already imagine what Cat is going to say!! ;-)

BUT BUT. I think it is fun to share. I think this helps everyone - it is fun to hear what those are dating are doing - it gives us all something to hope for. And for those not dating it is a relief to read that many are not dating and it is another day.

1. For those of you dating and in relationships - what are you going to do? Do you know yet? If you are not dating what are you doing?

2. Do you do or make anything fun with the kids?

3. What is your favorite flower?

4. What kind of chocolate do you like?

SHARE!!

V-Day... not really thrilled about this day either, but that's because i don't have a date or a special someone this year.

As a teenager, i remember my school doing v-day flowers and i was bitter because no "secret admirer" ever gave me flowers....

When I was married (the first time)... sure it was a rare opportunity to get a sitter and go out to dinner.. we rarely "dated" each other any other day than that...

However my second marriage was a different story.... He overlooked me most of the time. And on V-day, for some reason, it hurt more.

The past two years I was blessed by my church with a valentine's dinner... last year being the best with a stretch limo ride, child care, and everything!!! It was truly wonderful to know that even without a man in my life that I am truly loved by MANY people!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I am not a big V-Day person, either - not sure who said it, but the whole teddy bear/hearts and flowers thing isn't my deal.

Valentine's day is bittersweet this year (pardon the pun..lol!) because DD left this morning for a 5 day science field trip with her 5th grade class. I'm going to miss her and V-Day has always been for her in my mind. I have wonderful memories of my mom making valentines with me and it was so special- now I do that with DD and so it has always been her favorite holiday. So that is the bitter part. But I will have the whole week to spend evenings with Blue Eyes and that is sweet.

My best friend growing up also had a V-Day birhtday. I used to think "how cool" but then realized that her special day often got over-shadowed. I would giver her two cards. A valentine's card and always a seprated B-Day card and gift.

Her parents used to make her heart shaped cakes, write Happy Birthday on Valentines day cards- sort of blend the two together. I bet that sounds familiar!

Happy early Birthday!
