Since I am fairly new to the whole OLD concept I wondered if any of you have advice as to what to look for for warning signs! I met this great great guy who I have been texting and met twice now. He seems to be honest and on the up and up but...I worry I am missing something. He is on call just as much as I am and he works a lot of hours just the same as I do but so far he has been unavailable at certain times of the day/night/weekends.

So why don't you just ask him about why he is not available during those days and times?

For me, I"m all about being direct, honest, and upfront - both in asking questions and for giving answers.

I'm with the poster who said to just ask. I'm not an expert by any means but that seems like the simplest solution.

I agree on googling - would do that for anyone - check court records and home records - is there a woman's name on the house?

Disappearing on certain days, especially weekends, and nights - spotty communication - that is sort of a flag to watch in my experience. Not getting the home number and not seeing communication from it is sort of shady, too.

Time and gut feeling and research - those are a dynamic group to put together! Good luck and keep us posted!

Oh yes of course I asked him. That was the first thing that came up after the first date. He claims it is his job. He says he
