I hate moving....I REALLY HATE MOVING! But this time is different. I've owned homes before so it isn't because it's actually mine and not a rental, it's other things.

I'm wrapping up and boxing plates, knick knacks, pictures, all of it so we have it all done by Friday. We may not even be able to move out until Sunday, but we're determined that nothing we don't need this week will be left out of a box. I normally hate doing this crap and especially because I'm stuck doing it alone. But somehow, it's therapeutic.

I guess it's from all the stress we lived thru just getting this house deal closed. I didn't hear from the seller's agent about their estimated move out date and have called numerous times without getting a return call. I just took matters into my own hands and I'm leaving power on here til Monday and switching it over to our new place for Friday. The cable and phone will go Monday over there, but that's ok. I doubt we'll be deserate enough to watch tv Sunday and we have cell phones. I just got tired of waiting for an answer.

I did hear from Shane today that we needed to get on the ball to turn over utilities and that the sellers were getting out as quick as they can. I guess we'll get keys when we get them. But I refuse to worry about another issue. I'm all worried out and the biggest part of it is over. What a relief!

I'm glad you're enjoying it Mel. Consider yourself lucky! I hate moving! In fact I hate it so much, I moved in February and I am still moving. LOL I have boxes in the garage that have not been unpacked and walls still need to be painted. But we moved into new construction so most of our time has been spent putting up fences and landscaping. D and I have a lot of duplicate furniture sitting in the garage that we need to unload…but we haven’t had the energy to have a garage sale yet. I think it’s all getting donated before the end of the year.

Have fun, you’re right don’t worry. The house is yours. Soon you’ll be Unpacking again and painting and enjoying your new home! YAY! Take it easy, don’t work too hard.

Congratulations!

To begin with, I don't understand you saying "weird" like it's a BAD thing. LOL

if you're enjoying it, good...don't analyze it. It's great.

Thank goodness you have closed and are on the home stretch. I do sympathize with you - moving is the pits. There is a saying, "you never know how much you have until you move." And I think that is so true. Getting started packing is a bummer and it is exhausting at best.

But I know that I always throw a LOT of stuff away when I pack and then again when I unpack.

Get us some pix of the new place when you get settled. You always do such a great job of sharing pix with us!!

Congratulations and good luck!!

If your wierd than so am I -- I have been living out of boxes since the beginning of October!! I have had no pictures on my walls or anything. I am sooo excited and anxious to move and so are my boys -- even they have their toys in boxes!!

Here is what I have out - I have a few towels in the closet and toilet paper and just the food and a glasses and silverware left to pack...we have been eating off paper plates for 2 months!! LOL

We are READY to go!!

I too have transferred all utilities except water-- I guess I cant do that until the actual closing happens.

Wondering about my drivers licence and checks -- are you doing your checks once your drivers licences changes over?
I want them to match ???

This is my 2nd move in my life time ( first move ever was from my parents into this house when I got married) so its all new to me... ITS ALL MY OWN!!! :) hee hee

Enjoy your move!! I know I will to even if I put my back out!

I packed the plates and glasses yesterday. We have a couple of plastic cups and the silverware out and I'm going to look today at what I'm planning to cook all week and pack the unnecessary cookware away. All mixing bowls are out on the counter and I'm going to keep one or two out and a pyrex measuring cup just in case. Those are always needed in my house.

Pics are off the walls and have been for a while. Dylan's toys are in toy boxes and baskets where he keeps them, so I am just leaving them be because those are easy enough to transport a whole mile!!! Today, I'm packing knick knacks and most of the cutlery. Shane's mom is supposed to come tomorrow.

As for the checks and DL, I'm going to get those done when I can. I want it to match, but my big priority is to just get moved in and then I'll go do that. The bank can update my address online so I'll do that and then when I order checks next, I'll have the new addy already fixed.

I say just relax and get settled. Don't rush to fix addresses on stationery or other things except bills until you've moved. Just email all your family and friends the new address and call the bill companies and be done with it until you're unpacked!
