with my grad school work for the semester. The abstracts are all finished and printed, the final version of my paper is ready to print. I turn them in Monday and that's it....fini~

I meet with my grad advisor today to discuss class in the Fall.

I'm going to have to get back to studying Japanese to keep myself occupied this summer.
A summer romance would sure come in handy right now. I need to relearn how to relax!

How is everyone else going to relax this summer? Vacation plans?

>>>How is everyone else going to relax this summer? Vacation plans?<<<

My vacation is over, no more planned (no more money, lol). I'm going to relax by not dating. I am going to get dd and I membership passes to the water park again, that will be our main summer activity I think, that and reading lots of books from the library, taking lots of naps when dd is with her dad, and cleaning out my closets.

Congrats on the finish of your grad school work for now. That is a lot of work done!! Keep us posted for your fall plans - I admire you for pushing yourself and going back to school. YOu have worked very hard at all of that - and karate to boot!!

And Japanese is a very good goal!! Would that mean an eventual trip to Japan?

My summer plans are not relaxing - but they are extremely joyful for me, if that counts at all....

In June I am going to Maryland with my parents and ds as a combined race/family trip. I am doing Eagleman - it is a half ironman in a nature preserve around the Chesapeake bay. I have rented a house on the water for us and my son will get to go crabbing. We will relax a lot there - the good thing about doing a race is that you get to chill the week before.

And I have just planned a trip to New Hampshire for another half ironman race. I am taking my 2 babysitters and son and having a fun vacation. They have this beach on the lake with a boardwalk, drive-in movies, water slide, train rides, bumper cars, etc. The weather will be cooler than FL in summer for sure. And we have a small apartment with a kitchen so I can cook (love to cook!).

I have decided that my goal for next year is to really get more fit and attack the half ironman in St. Croix - I want to get a slot for the Ironman Canada. I just told my coach that this morning.

I am focusing more on myself than trying to meet someone - will see where that takes me.

Oh - and we are building a pool. DS and I are going to see the design tomorrow.

I wish I could travel this summer, but that's just not in the budget.

The sad thing is, I have this manila folder sitting on the desk, with the sweat and tears of my semester...it's ready to hand in, just printed it off....and

I'M ALREADY BORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Oh no - it is way too soon to be bored!!

I do like First's list of things to do - waterpark, books, closets. That is a great list for summer.

What classes did you cover this semester? Do you have the option of school in the summer?

I've taken all I can take undeclared and my official acceptance in the department starts in the Fall. So I can't take classes this summer. IT would be difficult anyway, timewise.

I will probably do the clean the closet thing. But my gradwork was what kept me from going crazy here at work! :)

Relax?

I'll be big as a house, working full time, painting a new house, pushing DH to work on BASEMENT in new house...I might rest between tasks. LOL

What I DON'T know is what I am doing with Tyler for the summer!

CONGRATS on getting everything that you've wanted to accomplished. I can't say that I know how much work that is. I've never done school. But I am very excited for you. You must feel wonderful.

What is your major/subject of study? And what do you want to do when you get your degree? Your goals?

The house really was in move in condition.

BUT, needs a new bathroom with a reasonable bathtub. Needs a much bigger bedroom in a separate living space for Tyler.

I tried to mop the floors last night (ALL of the linolieum sp?) and thought it would make a huge difference. Got done. NOTHING. The woman that had this house didn't clean regularly. And I suspect never put a good coating on the lineoleum when the house was new, so that it would prevent build up and staining. It looks freaking dirty. I might have to rent a machine to strip it and put a new coating on. It's going to drive me up a wall until then!

We painted a LOT (I Will get pics. Last night got most empty boxes out, so now I can see the place) but trim needs to be done. Baby's room needs to be done. The room that Ty is using now will be a small guest space. IT desperately needs to be done (paint, that is)

Yard work is necessary. There's never been any landscaping in the smallish backyard (though it has a decent deck)

I think that's it. Mostly superficial work, except for the stuff I want to do, and the basement work. It's just right for us. Keep us busy w/out falling down around our ears in the meantime.

I have a friend coming into town. She's staying with me. Hope she doesn't mind the half way moved in state too much, but I can't WAIT to take the weekend off!!! I am exhausted.

I will start working full time this summer so I'm real excited about that. I hope to find a place for my children and I to live- that will be a wonderful miracle from heaven. I hope to relax and start mentally reorganizing the kids and myself into a family. I still have this leftover broken family, broken dreams feel from the divorce and I want to start moving past it. I think it's a matter of redefining who we are. Kind of like the original plan was Plan A, now I want to mentally shift to Plan B, instead of still crying over A.

I have a wedding to go to in NH in June. I'm going without the kids. It will be my first little trip ever without them. Since I live in NY, I'll have to travel 4 hours or so by myself, which I've also never done. I'm sort of thinking of this trip as a rite of passage. My friends who are getting married set me up with a friend of theirs so I wouldn't have to be dateless. I'm looking forward to it.

On the relationship side, I have finally reconciled myself to the notion that I am truly not ready for one. I'm very busy and preoccupied right now. However, along with that, I've decided that it's time to buy my first vibrator. (Can I say that on here?) If anyone has advice on a good one, I'm listening. There is a store around here which looks like it's geared more to women so I'm thinking of dragging my best friend in there with me (I'd be way to embarrassed to go alone) Come to think of it, maybe I would be way to embarrassed to NOT go alone. I dont know. But its something Im thinking about. So that's my summer.
