It was nice, we had fun! No one really to write home about though; at least not for a first date. He has a strange sense of humor where he would laugh at his own jokes, which of course made me laugh.
He asked me quite a few questions and one that I thought was odd: If I was cocky like a peacock. LOL! I said no, I'm self confident and I could care less of what people think of me, I like myself. I just choose to dress successful.
It was funny how the date began because I wasn't quite sure if we were meeting for drinks or dinner. I think he did that on purpose though, because we met at the bar which was also a restuarant and I think he wanted to check me out before deciding to spend dinner on me. LOL. But yes, he then asked if I would like to eat. I was starved, so I was very grateful for the invite. LOL. Starving single mom's are really pathetic! LOL. I don't think I can lose more weight. I'm already a size 0!
He said he had a great time and wanted to see me again. That he knew we lived on the opposite end of town from one another, but he would like us to try and make the time.
I said sure and I will, but I really could give a fig! He's very nice, but I am just not in the dating mode of going through allll of this again. I think it's fine for me to take things very slowly and do something with him again, but just not anytime soon.
One thing that irritated me was that he looked at his cell phone a few times and his excuse was that because he has his own business he has to check it. I guess that is true, but very irritating nonetheless.
I have a date lined up next Saturday with a British fellow I dated way back when I first moved here. Not relationship material. He's a real estate agent who is trying to sell me a house and I like his style on homes and want him to take the time to show me a few and in the mean time let him take me out for dinner and listen to his accent (dreamy). He asked me out yesterday for tonight and I said, I'm sorry, but do you actually think I don't have plans? ( I don't, but I don't have to admit that). He said, well next Saturday? I said, yeah, I'll check my calendar but I know I have one night still; I just don't remember which one.
But again, I could reallly care less! Give me someone that will flip my socks off, because in two years, NO one has wow'd me on a first date!

I think first dates are always a bit nerve wracking. So maybe see what happens if you get a second and want to go. It is good you are going to explore the house thing on your own - maybe you can get a good deal?
What is the time frame for driving to "the other end of town" to see ChoirBoy - I mean how far of a drive are you talking?
What did you guys eat?
It's 45 minutes away, but I love that area and will be house hunting in his vacinity. We talked quite a bit about that last night. His business consists of reconstructing homes. Sooo, I am going to pick his brains regarding that. Including maybe showing him a place that I have keen interest on and get his take on the work it might need, cost, etc.
Soooo I have my ducks in a row with the men I am saying for the moment:
1 guy who has his own business in reconstructing and remodeling home.
1 guy who is a real estate agent and the buyers market right now is terrific.
Now I need to date someone that can inspect my house for free.
But not a mortgage loaner, don't want to mix that into the equation. LOL.
We both ate seafood which we both love, but he has sushi and I don't really like it. Very few sushi things I will eat with all that seaweed, cold fish and cold rice. EW
This is most hilarious with your house and your "helpers"!! Keep us posted.
I am not so sold on sushi either. I like the salads. And the simple ones with the cooked items or vegetarian fillers. Don't like the raw things, fried things or the salty sauces. Bt a seafood place that lets everyone order what they like is quite good.
A fishy first date - pardon the pun! Maybe I am more punchy today because it is Friday! :-)
