Edited to add: I know the title was written grammatically incorrect. It was an accident, grammer police! Sorry!

When it comes to dating/men...what area do you find yourself feeling self-conscious?

Well my first issue is my weight. Sometimes it really does not bother me...I have the attitude that this is me and take it or leave it. I do not have just a pannus...oh no no I have two butts in front. No joke folks! Blah

I had the same thing happen. Ex is alcoholic, actually told me while we were breaking up that my eating was like his alcoholism...except if I eat and drive I DON'T HAVE CAR ACCIDENTS! I wallowed in my misery with food, but my blood pressure went up and I decided for the sake of my kids I had to lose the weight, so I have lost 35 pounds since Feb. Having a real reason, other than just to look good, makes it seem to stay off better.

Hmmmmmmm,This part of the question is alot harder to put words to. I would have to say I worry about my body image, my skin tends to break out, and I bite my nails. These are all more of a personal problem as no one else seems to notice. I think it stems from being heavy for many years and feeling unattractive. My Ex never gave me compliments so my self esteem was low. It is hard to beat that back sometimes. The other issue I have is feeling intimidated by the idea of dating a man who I perceive to be more successful than I am. I think it may hold me back from dating the right man who can stand alongside and challenge me. The men I have been involved with have tended to be insecure.

Everytime i really got on my X (while married) about going to AA, he would tell ME to go to OverEaters Anonymous. He even made it my computers screen saver once. Ahole.

I am very self conscious about my weight, I have lost 35 lbs this year but still have at least 65 to go :(
I also am very self conscious about my income. I have not been able to work for 8 years now. I am a disabled Mom raising a special needs child now. My oldest two (21 & 17) understand but I often wonder about DD7.
I am also self conscious because it seems I am very old fashioned. I LOVE cooking, baking and sewing. I am making drapes for my bedroom now. So many people ask me why I go to so much trouble when its easier to buy these things.
I am also very very self conscious about my past history with abusive men. It took me a long time to learn. I was married to not 1 or 2 but three abusers. I finally took the time to get a lot of counseling and to stand on my own two feet before I even considered dating again. I took 5 years for myself and children then.
