First of all how long has he been split from his ex and are you the first relationship out of if ?

The name slip could be a Freudian slip, or just an accident.

However, it did happen to me with an xbf, and yes 6 months later I found out he was still in love with his

XW . His x shouldn't be an issue at this stage of the game, and if she is, than you may have to re-think things a bit, and step back.

I think it was just a slip of the lip.

I honestly think there is no worry! I've done this too. I've called my SO by my exs name...just habit, absolutely no harm. I never ever think of my ex in a romantic way (ewwww!) but my little brain has his darn name programed into my head and it will take years before I can replace permanetly with another name, lol!

I am sure it is a harmless slip- we've all done it :o)

Lol- Nicolas' dad will say, "babe" to me on the phone, and when I say, "please don't call me that..." he'll go- 'oh, sorry L"...

SIGH

I don't think it's so much that your bf isn't over his ex- you didn't mention how long they were together... so it could just be that he was "used" to saying her name after time... Or it could be the EMOTION attached to the name LOL- I know I slipped and said, "A!" when I was mad/ upset with J.... OOPS!

I have to admit; I'm proper-noun challenged, so I stumble over people's names all the time!

I've been known to jumble up my kids' names, dogs' names, date's names.... I never know what will come out!

The phrase "my dear" sends an ice cold grip around my throat every time I hear it.

Yeah, "My dear" sounds kind of condoning. My ex never called my anything other than a shortened version of my real name..no pet names thank god.

I admit that I love it when BE calls me "baby"...he always says it in a breathy way when we hug or under the covers.

I never liked "honey" or "hon".
