I am fairly sick of being asked out by guys who DO NOT want to pay for me meaning dinner or drinks or anything. So I have had a few new responses from my POF ad. I basically told one guy I was sick of paying half and it would be nice to go on a date with a guy who is gentleman enough to PAY. He said that seemed like I was a gold digger! ME A GOLD DIGGER? I can pay my half...that was not the point at all.

I don't remember if anyone has brought this up, but the cost of the sitter can be equivalent to the cost of the date.
Only the guy could also be a single parent and have to pay for his own sitter I suppose making it even...still though for most of the dates I have had that is not the case - even when they are single Dads they have the kids living with the ex...
They should pay if they ask you out - that is their part of dating and a gesture in courtship by someone who has a genuine interest in you and wants a relationship. I would not mind an informal coffee meeting or a glass of wine for a quick happy hour meeting - those are not expensive and they can afford that.
I do not think you should tell them that - but to screen them so you know it won't be a question. The other thing to consider - is that POF is free - I have found that it just is not the same in quality as Match or EH.
If you are really strapped right now with the dog then perhaps take a break until you feel better and maybe have some money to invest in the pay sites?
