I know I'm not the only one that struggles with providing for our families.

I think we all think about easier ways to make money.

But healthcare workers??? We get crap.

I know! It's so bad..it's like society takes advantage of our nurturing nature and desire to help by paying us nill- I've dealth with this for years and years! Same goes for other nurturing/caring fileds: social work, child care, couseling.

Thanks....I just feel like they exploited her and I honestly dont believe that job contributes to a woman feeling good about herself And in my book when you have a situation that undermines the potential strength in a mom you are doing the same to her children. I also dont understand why there was a show that shared time with freegans and a single mom who had resorted to stripping - I didnt see the connection. I wanted there to be two sides to both story - like someone who had gotten sick from being a freegan and had gone back to grocery shopping lol and grown ups who had been the children of a mom who stripped to pay bills....I dont know it just wasnt a good show. It kind of reminded me of Oprah's old Mauryesque shows in the beginning of her career. I thought she had gotten past that! Then today she had a show about embracing and being empowered by your midlife years - wth? I didnt watch today's show though....

I agree with all of you regarding nursing salaries.

I think nurses are wonderful people - they have to learn a lot for their education and they really are the backbone of our medical system - way underpaid and way overworked. And always kind to all of us when we need them.

I didn't see the Oprah show - but think the whole stripper thing is sort of ridiculous. I mean in our day and age and time there are so many more other options. Like Cat said, you can ask for help for families, charities, friends. I would not judge someone if they chose that option, but I would not choose it for me.

I agree Rebecca totally. I have those thoughts about how much we do and how important it is.Ive held hands with people leaving this world, tried to help keep them here by doing all that I could and watched new lives come into this world. Its great being a nurse but when I paid my lawyer more that I made in 2 weeks to just sign papers that he wasnt even there to go over with me..it pissed me off.

I know I can hold my head up because I do something that might not be glamorus but I also am helping in the lives of many.I dont regret nursing because its whats taken care of me and my son.I work my ass off
