One of the things I've been working on in the last few years, is overcoming my sense of guilt.

Great idea!
BIG TIME!!!
Hi B-
I'm happy to hear you had a nice holiday weekend get away with CM! (can you remind me what CM stands for?)
I've dealt with mom/guilt issues my whole life. Mine is controlling with a capital C. It is her way or the guilt high-way. I did enjoy my visit but we had a few moments of her kind of pulling that judgment card that you're talking about.
One example: A really good friend of mine I knew from high school came over for dinner with her boyfriend J. My mom is extremely liberal and J is "rush limbaugh-like conservative. Well the topic of gay marriage came up and J very delicately expressed his views (hey- I don't agree with him but he has the right to believe what ever he believes) and my mom jumped down his throat so fast and practically shot poison darts at him with her eyes... you can imagine the awkwardness that followed! So after dinner we all headed to the fireworks. I hung around my friend (and therefore
CM stands for Chevelle Man.
Sorry to hear you had to listen to all of that from your parents. They truly do not understand what type of world we live in nevermind the pain of a divorce and the aftermath and all its ugly mess. OMG. And then to throw darts on top of it - I have had a bit of that myself so I do know your pain.
I am glad you enjoyed your weekend - and got the cuddling - maybe the lack of nakie time will make CW come panting for more and more!! hehe
I cannot believe that your exh was with a married OW and that they got caught by her husband - what a double mess they made and 2 messed up families to boot. And no, as PacSun said, you don't have control over the monster in his pants.
It sounds to me like you really tried to hang on - for the kids - to have listened to his "yes he would have done it anyway" and still stayed. You know in your heart that did all you could and you have worked hard - and being a single mom is hard.
I hope the rest of the summer is more sunny. And no more graduations either for a while. Did you get the mess cleared up with the XMIL? What did you end up doing?
HUGS!!
Maybe we should start a bus out of town for negative people??
