One of the things I've been working on in the last few years, is overcoming my sense of guilt.

"I haven't heard anything from the xMIL for quite awhile. "

What did you tell her in response to her letter that you must pay for the party SHE planned? Just curious.

And I can't believe that the OW and her exh were family friends - that clearly is a drama. And I am sure the sex REALLY was not worth all the mess it caused in so so many lives. UGH! I don't know how you - or anyone here who had to deal with an affair and then a divorce - managed to really go through all of that - because it was all something totally outside your control and so shocking and so hurtful - and then to have to turn your whole life upside down for the aftermath of a divorce - that is just so bad.

Yes sort of. And I can certainly see why you are frustrated! My mom doesnt do the guilt trip for not calling. Actually she would die of a heart attack if I called more than once a month.

My mom once said that the fact that my 21 year old DD is successful was a fluke and that my other two DD's would be much different. Gee thanks ma.

I haven't actually spoken to her.
