I am curious - what is your love language?

1) Words of affirmation
2) Quality time
3) Acts of service
4) Receiving gifts
5) Physical touch

http://www.fivelovelanguages.com/30sec.html - that is the quiz to help you determine.

Do you think the other person you are dating must have one that is compatible? Or is it just an awareness thing of what each other likes? Thoughts? Experiences?

I so agree...especially about all the languages coming together into one expression.

That's funny about the gifts. Every now and then I might pick up something for BE I know he would like. The thing is he's so darn practical that he doesn't really "get" little sentimental trinkets so much as he appreciates practical things. He feels the obligation to get every practical use out of things...one time I bought him a coffee table book all about Pink Floyd. He began reading it, front to back and "
completed it" in about a week lol! When he gave ME a big book on U2, he was sort of taken aback that I put in on my book shelf and only refer to it now and then- it is more of a nice thought and novelty for me...but just as appreciated!

In his mind giving me a washer/dryer for example would be a great expression of love because it is so practical :o) He like to buy me things I will no doubt use. He bought me socks and lightbulbs from target

I was actually going to post about this, because I was debating the gift thing for a while.

I'm an acts of service type. I dont need that in return. Its just what I like to do. And I make sure its what he wants before I do it. In other words no surprises.

I love the iPod idea but as much as he is passionate about music, he is still sort of in the dark ages about iPod stuff (as am I). Heck- he still has over a thousand records...yes the vinyl kind! The rest of his library is CDs and dowloaded stuff on the PC.

Question- (I feel so stupid asking this) what are iPods for exactly. I know you use them like we used to use walkmans..for portable music while your walking and stuff. But what else..what is an ipods main selling point? See- told ya I'm techno challenged.

GPS is a good idea! I'll look into that..

I like the sunglasses idea your doing for SEV. And taking the day off? I love it! I think I need to start implementing your "birthday as a holiday" concept. I like it!!

You don't have to get an ipod persay (that being a name brand)--my daughter has an off-brand MP3 player that works really well!

There are a few different versions of the ipod, some with video capability, some with picture viewing, etc., but the primary reason for the ipod is exactly what you said - portable music.

The really nice thing about them (although I use a Zune myself) is that now if I want music, I can just purchase a certain song - not an entire album.

I personally can't live without my Ipod.
