Hi Everyone,
I hope I am not invading where I should not, but another boardie said I should come to all of you single Mom's for advice.

AHA - here you go - I did some google searching for you and found something new:
http://astepmomssay.wordpress.com/
It is a blog by a step mom and it has a lot of links to other step mom resources. It is a "day in the life" of a stepmom so to speak and very interesting and very eye opening. Lots of good stuff about Mother's Day, too.
I know you are not married - but I felt you would find it insightful. As I said, I had read a lot on step parenting because I was curious and love to read. I think it is more about the situation than anything about you personally - and maybe knowledge of that will make it all easier to deal with and give you a more detailed and focused path of action?
This is the book I mentioned: Getting Married After 40: Advice & Inspiration from 100 Women Who Found Good Husbands. Now, I know you are NOT over 40, but I feel the advice and inspiration in that book was good from the view of someone marrying later in life, a second or third time around or just dealing with step parenting. Most of the women in there said the hardest thing about their marriage was dealing with the kids for life and with the BM (biological mom). Although some of them had it easy and the kids LOVED them. So it is a big mix.
Keep us posted, though. I hope we have all helped you in some way - and we do care!
