Where is Dating on your priority list?

I'm curious. It seems like extra time is vanishing as fast as the daylight hours now that it is fall.

So, putting aside the 8-10 hours of the day that we all have to work/go to school or whatever fill the bulk of the day...how much time is left? And what do you squeeze into that time? When do you date? What would your priority list look like...the top of the list being most important? Mine is something like this:

I get home from work about 5:30pm. So I have approximately 5 hours of evening time.

  • Work on homework or school projects with DD.
  • Disc golf on some days. Sometimes bowling or walking. Occasionally go out with BE or friends on dd free nights.
  • Grocery store or other needed shopping.
  • Make dinner/clean up.
  • Catch up on news or watch a bit of TV to unwind.
  • BED! (oh I love bed!)

I would like to make more exercise a priority but find it hard to work in when DD is with me. How do you all manage to get fitness time in? What else do you work in? An extra job? Night classes? Kids ball games?

I realized also that I don't seem to make my physical appearence a priority anymore. Gone are the days of shopping malls, highlighting hair and working on the make up. I just don't seem to work it in anymore. Poor BE! Maybe I need to work that in a bit ;o)

Kayaking is a blast. I am hooked on it. I even take my dog kayaking.

There are fitness boards on IV. I post on The Running Woman and Gym Rats. Both great places.

Lots of info for running newbies on coolrunning.com. Training plans too. Check it out.

Bummer that you cant cycle. Cycling is one of my favorites. I did a triathlon last weekend in the pouring rain and loved the bike ride even though we were all drenched.

Chemistry/Biology

That was my major in college. Then I got side tracked and got into Literature which pretty much derailed my Biology train. I still love it and all the sciences. I have a sort of a "split" brain- one side loves science and the other loves the arts and languages.

How is the new job going?

Oh, wow.... with your kid's ball games you are busy!!!

With moving into BEs place I have discovered that I still enjoy "my" time alone or with just dd. I love being with BE, but I find that being in the same house I still need my space here and there. So I have encouraged him to keep his weekly sports activities instead of always staying home and playing house with me. I think I would go crazy if he never got out and if I did not have some time alone. This week was:

monday: BE bowled with his league while I assembled a desk for dd in her new room. I felt pretty dang proud to have put that thing together! dd helped then I took her out for Japanese take out. tuesday: BE went disc golfing with his buddies while I worked with dd on her homework and then made dinner, re-organized BE's rather bacheolor like kithcen and went to bed :o)

Going to Clinicals is a class where you have to go to the hospital and get to work with patients. Basically you apply everything your learned in class to real hospital experience.
