(clearing my throat) here is my order please: Ahi Tuna Tartar with Black Truffle Vinaigrette & Basil Oil Grilled Filet mignon with Stilton Cheese, Port Wine Sauce Can I see the dessert menu though? I might want some sorbet or something.
About expensive first dates - I have had many many first dates and some of them were in fancy restaurants and some werent. It normally takes a bit to get me to go on a first date. It took SYB and I 6 weeks to get our acts together and go out to dinner. So celebrating the decision to get to know one another better makes perfect sense to me. On our first date, SYB and I went to a beautiful Indian restaurant and he bought a 96 dollar bottle of wine. I remember when he was telling me what he wanted for wine I looked and thought he was reading it wrong and said " hey, are you sure that you are reading that right? " and he just smiled and said " Relax. I've got this" it was a bit overwhelming for me but it was also nice to let him make the evening what he wanted based on how he was feeling. Sure it is pricey and risky considering we were on a first date but sometimes trusting your gut is a good thing. And look where we are now right? I think he was celebrating himself that night just as much as he was the idea of me. For some people, they want to be good to themselves and have some luxury when they are out and especially if they are in good company and acknowledging their desire to find a partner. That resonates with me a lot. Also I have to say that some of my sexiest evenings have been with amazing cuisine at pricey places ( thats where the cuisine hides out!) mainly because the food is so amazing that it becomes sensual and leads to other things. I have also cooked a meal at home that was over the top and it had the same effect but I was way more tired afterwards!!lol
Good luck rlch - have a wonderful wonderful evening!!
