Wild week here - how 'bout you?

Have you ever had one of those weeks? OMG - this is so crazy - just had to share.
First of all, I lost one of my long time employees. She wants to get into real estate - which is great - but she has been coming in late a lot and just doesn't have her heart into things here. When I explained that I feel she is taking advantage of my flexibility (she was late because she wanted to clean her house, work out and run an errand and not call to ask first!) she blew up at me and said I didn't trust her and that this is not win win she wants to do her thing. I think she just misconstrued what I said - but whatever - my biz comes first and it needs what it needs - not what someone else needs. I am sorry that it had to end on a bad note.
To add to the chaos, I just lost a brand new crown from a front tooth. Well just go and get it replaced - they would do that for free since it is so new I told myself. BUT it is not that easy. Turns out that tooth, which had a root canal about 20 years ago from a broken jaw/horse accident has deterioted. So I have some choices but the best is an implant which is sort of scary and very expensive. In the process I have had to find a new oral surgeon and change dentists. I was mad at the old dentist because she didn't suggest the best treatment for me - only what she can do in her office. But the plus side is that I will have all this fixed and a much better dentist to boot. The surgeon and the dentist actually went to school together and they collaborate on the whole treatment the whole way through - showed me lots of pix - and they even have you go to the lab to get the best tooth made at the end. I will use a 12 mos same as cash deal they offer - luckily I just paid off the kitchen appliances so this will just replace it for a bit more (Jennie - are you listening/approving?)
The puppies are growing fast and into everything! I wish I had a dollar for every pound of dirt brought in here. Yesterday DS and I had to get up at 5AM to study for him and to each take a dog in the shower with us!!!!! They love to shred paper and I found a whole one all over the office floor - looked like the makings of an easter basket!! And then one day they both decided to pee in one of their beds and sleep in their other one - too funny! You get the picture. Although we do love them dearly.
The pool is out of control - haven't had time for that and the filter is clogged - but will catch up this weekend. A few leaves in the bottom don't hurt anything, right?
We are so busy here I feel we will never dig out - the former employee really let things go and this is one of the busiest months of the year. I have one other person who helps - and she wanted more hours - boy did she get them - but she is moving this week too so can't work as much.
I guess these are all good things - I am so busy I am not lonely or wishing I was dating at all!! LOL!!
On the dating note, a cute guy approached me in the dog park - he is an athlete and could tell I was too. But when he saw me with DS he backed away - maybe he thought I was married? But the idea that there are cute single guys in the dog park is pretty good. And the coach I have liked for so long and I are getting closer - he wants to buy a bike and do triathlons with me. He is very shy - I am letting things go at his pace and just enjoying his coaching - if something happens fine and if not that is fine, too.
If you are having a wild week - please share - it will make me feel "not alone"!!

Yep, this week has been crazy here too. We are short handed at work. My DD has been sick and I am just about out of paid sick time. I use it all up with the kids being sick, ortho appointments and such.
I have been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to keep up with guitar lessons, riding lessons and church. But, it keeps me busy and I DO like that. I just would like an evening where I can sit and veg out. I am planning on doing that tonite. I have GOT to color my hair!! The gray is really starting to show and I have earned every gray hair up there!!
Thats good news about the coach!! Keep us posted on how that develops!!
Stephanie
Wow! What a week for you! I'm sorry about your employee, that is sad news. I totally understand where you are coming from though. She obviously couldn't differentiate her position with you. I can't believe she balked for you asking to work or the very least CALL. My goodness.
Word is, that the dog park is a huge deal when meeting guys. Why aren't you pursuing this coach? That has been an ongoing story AND............ what is going on with the whole internet dating scene.
I cancelled my subscription again. I need to focus on the guys I have at the moment. I can't take one any more.
LOL.
Have you seen the movie "Must Love Dogs"?
Wow Jennie - that is great that the meeting with P and your parents went so well. I can't wait to hear how the meeting for you and his parents goes!!
I am not sure what to say on the "rushing it" thing - on one hand I can see your parent's point because they want only the best for you - but on the other hand you are both grown adults with a very good idea of what you want in a relationship partner and a good idea of what it takes to make it work. Listen to yourself on that. I don't think you should rush for the school thing - just make sure YOU are okay with the timing for you. You certainly would have my blessing!
Do you know why he and his first wife were divorced?
Yes, we've talked a lot about their marriage and divorce, as well as mine.
