I sooo agree with that!!!!
Thanks All. I called her CCD teacher who IS super nice. Apparently she didnt choose the reading. She said each reading, for each specific week, is based on & dictated by, the Liturgical calender - so the reading isnt really part of the "communion", its just the reading they "have to do according to the diocese" that week. UGH.
She said she agreed that its not the "best" reading for a child. She said that Averey could absolutely bow out, but there is no chance of having it changed.
Rebecca, Mom to Averey, 2/8/00, Kibo, Sana & Zuri too!
Like West said, if you choose this reading could be used as a history lesson.
Hey, Since it has to be the "same reading", i found a different version that just doesnt seem so negative. Do you guys think this one is that much better (as good as it CAN be!), enough to ask her if she can read this one instead?
But rejoice in so far as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a wrongdoer, or a mischief-maker; yet if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but under that name let him glorify God.
Way cool, Marie!
"But be sure to reinforce MY beleifs."
YES - I think that is very important!!
Have you picked her dress? You are going to be so proud of her when she gets up to read!! They always look so grown up on their day - and the little girls look so precious in their dresses, veils and dressy shoes!
What is going on with Taz? I was hoping the doctor would go with him to the Holy Communion to keep him in line - but that is a little impractical I am sure!!
