Working on me

Well, I'm working at focusing on me. I have put on a bit of weight in the past year and a half and am finally motivated to lose it. It isn't a lot but (maybe 15lbs) I need to lose that and maybe another 5 or so. I should be able to get it off by the end of the year. With that in mind I actually put myself on an exercise program this week. I have tried a few times in the past year or so and always came up with excuses. Yes it is hard to find time as a single mom for that but I can do it. So I will get in at least 3 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training (toning) of some type. Monday was hectic but after I put the kids to bed I pulled out the dumbbells and did about 30 minutes of "stuff" (bicep curls, squats, chest press, push-ups) just basic stuff. I have some sore muscles so I obviously worked something. Went for a walk with the kids last night and will try to take them for a bit of a run/walk tonight. They enjoy it. They are with their dad this weekend so I can run Friday night and Sunday morning and that will be 3 for the week. Will pick the weights up tonight as well. I feel good about it and if I can make it through 3 weeks I know I will be able to stick with it.
Ready to start dating again too, I think. I have a profile up on POF but no picture. I am going to get my girlfriend to take some this weekend to post. Gotta start somewhere I guess. I'm lonely and I can't fix that unless I go out and put forth the effort. I'm fabulous and I'm sure I'll meet someone but they aren't going to find me on my couch eating ice cream (LOL)
I read through the post Judy put up about how to meet people and I will focus on others when I'm out more (kids soccer games, gymnastics, grocery shopping). It will all work out, I'm sure.
That's it for now. Hopefully I'll meet some fun people over the weekend I can tell you all about on Monday. We are trying someplace new this weekend. Wish me luck.
