Would it be awful if I....

Packed up his stuff and moved it to his storage bin and then changed the locks this weekend while he is off partying in NY with his friends. Would that be really immature? Because I am beginning to think immature is all he can relate to. I am sure my brothers would be more than willing to help me out if they knew what was going on here.

Of course he is he is being overly nice to me right now; most likely in hopes that he can sway me. Ha ha!!! He is in for a rude awakening. I have a song to quote on this one.

"Don't think all those tears are gonna hold me here like they've done before. You'll find what's left of us in a cloud of dust on highway 4. Baby what did you expect me to do? Just sit around and wait on you? Well, I'm through watching you just skate around the truth and I know it sounds trite but I've seen the light...bye bye love I'll catch you later got a lead foot down on my accelerator and the rear view mirror torn off cause I ain't ever looking back and that's a fact"

Awful? I think it is GREAT! It tells him that you mean business and are DONE putting up with his crap. Don't waste one ounce of energy feeling guilty. Use that energy to get started packing his stuff up and making arrangements to get your locks changed!!

Well, I don't think it would be awful. But it might have awful repercussions for you as the parent of the child.

BUT what I think you need to do is tell him it is way too stressful for you to have him here and you want him out before he returns - that you will help him take his stuff to the storage shed.

And then I would change the locks while he is gone.

At least that way he got a warning and a chance to move his stuff. And if he declines - well then - you can do the favor for him and he will get over it.

I do think it has been very bad for your mental health and sanity to watch his selfishness and lack of regard and respect for your feelings. And you do need your peace so you can move on with your life.

Well, I couldn't hold my tongue. I sent him a text stating that I hoped he was having fun and btw he was moving this weekend. Needless to say it escalated but he will be moving on Sunday. I plan to have my brother over tomorrow to help me change the locks and they will be here when he moves. So much for being nice. I just know I needed to show him that I meant business. He really has such little respect for me. I am angry and the better side of me says not to act out of anger but then he may just need to see this for once. I am tired of being taken for granted. I am also noticing that there is a general disrespect for women in general from him (something my brothers would never tolerate much less disrespect for me)

It is good for me because I really need to have my life back and move forward but at the same time, yes it is scary to go where you can't go back.

Well done!
I think you have done the right thing, he has been taking advantage of you.

Well, it might seem scary now but I think this little dose of "don't use me like a doormat, mister" will serve you VERY well in the future. I am glad you did that!!!!!!!!!!

Well, no communication all weekend which is a first and I am proud of myself for being able to let it go for a few days.
