I will preface this with the fact that I far from a bigot.

meeting people. conversing. learning, etc. I'm all for that... Friends, coworkers, family, etc. Diversity is a wonderful thing! As you said, it's how we learn and grow in our own personal faith.

dating \ marriage is a totally different rhelm, though.

I don't believe all Muslims are as strict in the views of women.

I have taught young Muslim men at a college program in Providence. They were not particularly observant, just like a not observant Christian. Usually they were Turkish or Moroccan and very "western" oriented. They were generally respectful, they felt that Islam is misunderstood in the west because all we focus on are the extremists. Religion didn't dominate their lives. I don't think I could date a religious Muslim, but I couldn't date a super religious person anyway.

I would at least take a chance and chat with him and possibly go on a date with him. A lot of it would depend on how devout he was. I consider myself christian but I would not want to go out with someone super religious...in any faith. That is my personal preference though.

You aren't going to marry him just go on a date. If you think you might have a lot in common and feel it would be fun and interesting then I say go for it!

Good question, Rebecca. As with any religion that differs greatly from what we are accustomed to, it could both interesting and challenging.

I think I would go on a date just to meet someone different and possibly learn something new. As far as dating long term, I think that would be a challenge if he is
