Alone on Xmas eve, and surprise, surprise- I'm OK about it. I've got all the presents wrapped and under the tree, have double checked all the reservations for my trip tomorrow and have almost everything packed (just have to wait til we open presents tomorrow as we'll be taking some of those with us). All that is left is cleaning off the dining room table. I hope I'm not the only one who ends up with bills, magazines, school projects, etc somehow accumulating on the only large open surface in the house. But tomorrow is one of those rare days I actually use the dining room for its intended purpose.

I did have a great birthday, in spite of PsychoBoy being in a mood and throwing D3's shoes at me and saying he wasn't going to let me have the kids. Taunting me with "Why don't you call the Sheriff?" Well.... he knows I would have and there'd be no excuse plus S16 was just getting ready to leave and there's no way he'd stop that kid. So he just ranted incoherently while I ignored him and focused on D3. S16 said his dad has been in a snit for a couple of days. So who knows what is bugging him, I just wasn't going to let it bug me. Thankfully, there was no repeat of this behavior when he came to get them today at 5pm. I kept all conversation focused on the fact S16 has some flu bug and when his last dose of Tylenol was given. Hope he's better by Wed when he's going to be dying to go skiing.

M's daughters had a sleepover Sat night so they slept in Sun AM and he snuck over to my house before I needed to get my kids to bring me breakfast and a little Bday love. My kids made me a cake and wrapped the presents I bought for myself (pathetic, but hey, at least D3 gets a kick out of wrapping them and giving them to me). He and his X switch at 11pm tonight so he'll be heading over here then. I should get a fire going in my fireplace. Mmmm and a couple of snifters of port. Yummmm

Well, Merry Xmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays to all!

Queen Bun - I am so proud of you for being so strong on a day that would definitely be emotionally challenging for me and most anyone here - your birthday and Xmas Eve combined. When you were alone and also attacked by your exh.

It is so refreshing to see what inner strength and good self control and communication skills can do with a situation like this. I know you had to work hard and go through a lot of bad days to get to this. Your emotional intelligence is near genius level for sure.

At the same time it is wonderful you have found a man like M, who is so dedicated to you that he would sneak out and work hard to fit you in his tight schedule to make you feel special.

HI FIVE and Merry Xmas girl!! We are so lucky to have you here. I know your stories and perspective have helped all of us many times.
