Hey Ya'll,

You know most of my story, so, what should I spend on SO this year?

Points to ponder with your recommendation:

Shrimpy, for me, (generally speaking), I try to set and keep a $ max for the DD's in order to make it equitable.

Okay gals,

I agree, its not about the money. But to a certain extent it always is. If you know a SO can afford a certain level, and they spend very little, it always

I come from a big family also and we do a gift game every year. Whoever wants to play brings a unisex gift, we draw numbers and whoever has #1 selects a gift out of the pile, then whoever has #2 can either select from the pile or take #1's gift making #1 select another out of the pile.....#3 can select one out of the pile or take #1 or #2's making them pick another out of the pile...the game continues in this manner. There are usually 15 or so playing and being the last is the number you want. It gets rowdy if there is one or two things everyone wants. It's a lot of fun. My neice told me this passed Saturday that she got something very controversial. I can't wait to see what it is.

I LOVE those games as well - I have only played them at the office in place of a "Chris Cringle" exchange, but I think it is a great idea for a large family.

One thing we did as a family instead of a gift exchange, we sponsored a local family and everyone chipping in $50

If one person would chose to opt out, there would be no hard feelings.

I was going to try to continue to argue my point, but

That's a great idea sponsoring a needy family!
