It's really bothersome to think that there are people who are so good at playing "the game" that we don't even see it coming.

It's also very possible that he got carried away, and he THOUGHT he meant those things when he said them, but he's such a confused and flaky individual that he doesn't know how to deal with feelings like that and so he shuts down and avoids contact when he's overwhelmed. I've known a couple of people like this and they are certainly NOT worth dating. They have very little self-awareness and have a real problem with maintaining emotional intimacy. They are the common denominator in their failed relationships. This guy's behavior seems to fit the description, but regardless, he is a coward and a jerk.

I know all too well how easy it is to become that close to someone you work with, it really causes problems when things don't go well. Sorry you're going through this :( Be the strong one!

Suck is right. I think what bothers me the most is how easy it was to drop me like he had just met me the night before in a bar. Then the bull poop lines he told me after. I guess when I was seeing people before I got married men did the sweet and nice until they got what they wanted not wait until after they got it to start to talk all nice and fake.

I have to keep it very work only, I do not want to even think what I would have to put up with if it ever got out that I let myself be played as good as I did.
