Now, don't confuse this with random thoughts... there does not have to be any thought involved in this one... just curious how long this thread can get... just talking about nothing...

Although knowing us.. it will turn to men, love, sex, cowboys, embroidery (heheh T) and more...

Who wants to talk about nothing? It's all men think about. :-)

Ladies and Gentlemen,

This is my 1000th post to the board! A round of applause please!

Now I'd better put my hat back on and see what zz has been up to on MFFL whilst I've been over here. :o)

I will leave you all with my very favourite graphic - no, not the one of the old couple birling roon an roon (birl = spin, roon = round or around). This one. :o)

I'm trying to be on my best behavior since everyone's trying to get to 5000 without a deleted post. I think it may have been close to a month since I got one deleted, and that is a long time for me!

Trying to keep up today, well I just got lost....

Was it T who said she used to deliver cattle? I also used to haul cattle in a big truck. I liked it much better than driving a reefer. One reason is that I never had to drive through Boston (or substitute any large city up north!) to deliver cattle!!

*****
I think it was the mere mention of the PP man on here that started the corruption. LOL.

He'll be so proud.

You're right that DOES make it sound that she was saying Jennie started the corrupting until I came along and finished the job.

Hmmmm

I can't decide if I should give you points for choosing to be tucked in by me...or depressed that you explained it away so that it wasn't a compliment to Anne or I and simply a case of location, location, location. ;)

;)

It was I! :)

I grew up on a cattle ranch in Western Massachusetts. (Registered Polled Herefords). So, when we attended shows or sales, or purchased new cattle or delivered sold cattle....it was Always a long haul.

Imagine a family of 4 in the front cab the 15 hour trip to Louisville. Every year.

And of course, when hauling cattle...especially Show cattle and you want to minimize the stress of the trip....you Don't Stop.

When I graduated from college I moved back to Massachusetts....all my stuff loaded into my S10, Dad driving, me in the passanger seat....breakables behind my seat, my backpack with our change of clothes for *when we stop over night* on my feet, and a large vase with 2 dozen dried long stem roses on my lap.

about 5pm on the first day (we'd been on the road 12 hours at that point), we learned there was a blizzard on the way (it was December) -- Soooo....We didn't stop.

22 hours on the nose, door to door. Dad drove the entire way because he wouldn't hold the roses. No moving, no stretching with the crap on my lap and at my feet, and no sleeping because if I started to fall asleep the roses would knock against the dashboard and break....AND...I didn't HAVE cruise control in the S10!

Eek.

The only city-city we really had to drive thru often was Hartford...though compared to some parts of the country, ALL of Connecticut is like driving in a city! ;)

I don't recall ever having to go in to Boston...I try to avoid driving there at all....though I rather enjoy the "completed" Big Big.....BUT>...we did deliver a 2 year old bull to Martha's Vineyard one year....which involved riding over on the ferry.

THAT was interesting.

Phew!

*fingers crossed I didn't muck it up*

I just had to laugh at what you posted on MFFL board! Talking about washing cattle!

I replied back in the wrong thread, LTAN, that I'd never seen anyone wash a cow! I spent most of my life living on and working for an order-buying cattle company. We've never owned a registered cow before. Mostly Hereford mix.

For a few months I drove an 18-wheeler around the south, so I know all about not being able to stop, especially if it's too hot for them.

And as far as your co-worker, I think it's hilarious that you're so much smarter than him and he dang well knows it!! Just hang in there, chick.
