The longest thread about nothing....

Now, don't confuse this with random thoughts... there does not have to be any thought involved in this one... just curious how long this thread can get... just talking about nothing...
Although knowing us.. it will turn to men, love, sex, cowboys, embroidery (heheh T) and more...
Who wants to talk about nothing? It's all men think about. :-)

We have an 18 yo, friend of the family staying with us to serve as a part time Nanny. She'll help my wife out for three weeks, then I'll quit my job and she'll help me out. The way we are looking at it, is that it costs us a lot less than daycare for Markis, so we are saving money while helping out this young lady. Her parents are splitting up and she doesn't have any other place right now anyway, so it's perfect timing all around. She's moving into a dorm in the fall. She loves kids and is going to be getting her degree towards being an Elementary teacher.

Has this thread died and gone to heaven?
I see I haven't posted anything since last Thursday. Mind you, to be perfectly honest, I don't think I've been anywhere without my hat since last Thursday! So for what it's worth, I came and posted today. :o)I hope you are all well and enjoying new homes, new pregnancies, new babies, dune buggies and PP men - not especially in that order! :o)That sounds like a nice arrangement.

Anne,
This thread is trying to hang on, but everyone has become so busy.

I was thinking about you over the weekend. In fact I even said to Douglas that you were flitting - that's what we call it in Scotland - and he said he felt sorry for you having to do it in all that heat.
Talking of making the tea - I'd better go and get it done or people will think I've been sitting here all day - which I actually haven't today! Amazing, but true! LOLDay care around here is pretty expensive. We were paying roughly $300/week when we first started Markis. As he got older, it got a little less expensive. I think we were down to $260 when we pulled him out.
In the fall, we'll have one income, and the two kids will be more than $100/day (yes, per day, not per week) for daycare, plus I'll still be paying to go to school. Needless to say, finances will be tight. I'm sure we'll manage. We've been saving and rearranging finances to get ready for this long hungry year coming up.

The heat wasn't too bad this weekend.

$300 a week???

$300/month is what my wife pays for her car payment as well. $107/day is going to be way more than we are paying for our mortgage (which comes to about $63/working day). At least I'll have a chunk of the summer off each year and we can pull them out of daycare during those times.
I'm glad to hear you are finally moved out and into your own apartment. I would suggest buying a few shelving units to keep stuff on. They may not look pretty, but they hold a lot of stuff, and it's better than just stacking boxes on the floor.

The thing I always find about flitting is that the box you want to empty can't be emptied because it's in the wrong room and you can't move it out of that room because of another box being in the way and that box can't be moved because it goes somewhere else and that somewhere else is already full of boxes that should be in the first room you thought of. Phew! :o)
