While I agree that he's not making the best choices, I don't agree that this is a rare thing to happen.

I hate to say this, but I was involved with a guy like this. He didn't consider it "cheating" for no (good) reason other than the plain and simple fact that he didn't want to consider it "cheating".

It was cheating. Obviously. Eventually the guy manned up and told his wife what happened, but still.

Men can love their wife, fiancée, girlfriend, whatever and still cheat. It's really not rare. This guy still loved his wife, I'm sure, but he wanted more and just allowed it to happen without thinking about it too much. Men don't always cheat because they do not love someone... Sometimes they cheat because the opportunity is there and they can't/won't resist the temptation.

It takes a lot of denial in order for this guy to carry on the way he is.
