Hi, Ladysara! Thank you for responding to our QOTW, and Welcome to the 50 board!

I'm sorry you happen to be one of those people who have to work on Thanksgiving, along with the thousands of folks who do the same in order to keep the country moving smoothly. One of my DDs is in the medical field and she has to work also. However, it sounds like you've got things under control by having your feast a day earlier! I can remember when I had to do that and it worked out well. I love the leftovers, and coming home from work

It sure is creepin up fast!

My kids and their spouses will be here for Thanksgiving dinner with DH and me. I will be doing all the cooking, I expect, but they are great at helping with the cleanup and that is the part I hate! I still have some shopping to do to get all the ingredients for dinner.

Again, this year, I'm splitting the two major holidays between each of my DDs. Thanksgiving, oldest DD and I will spend in Olympia with family on her paternal side, cousins she grew up

It just occurred to me fifteen minutes ago when a boardie announced that she needed to buy a turkey for a big dinner next week that is NEXT WEEK ! AAACK!

DH has a call into BIL to see if we are combining again this year - and where (his house or ours). If we aren't I need to buy food for our own little meal (Turkeys take forever to thaw so I hope i can find a non-frozen one). If we are, and at his house, I need to buy food for my contribution. If at our house, I HAVE to clean up the dining room!

Hello Liz,

Thanksgiving isn't celebrated where I am. I don't think we'll be doing anything this year, either. I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Yes, its bearing down on me like a freight train! I'm sick this week so house cleaning, shopping and other prep are getting postponed...I think I'll be very busy next week!

We will be at home, with me cooking. This year there will be only 6 of us because much of the family has moved away in the past couple of years. It will be dh and I, dh's parents who come from out of town and spend the night (so the guest room and bathroom need to be spotless), a nephew who will drive down from L.A. for the dinner then return home, and my ds who lives nearby. Ds' gf has an earlier dinner with her large extended family then comes to our house for a second dessert.

Dh is very good about cleaning up the kitchen afterward, and sometimes some of the other guests pitch in too.

I'll be hosting 8 and cooking, got the turkey yesterday and it's thawing in my fridge now.
