HD's youngest son and the two little DGDs (ages 6 and 3 and a half#) have been visiting and they went back to the Puget Sound area this morning.

Oh Pat, I know all the Grandmas here feel your sadness. I know from experience how hard it is to have the little ones in your life for a while and they they are gone. I hope you let everyone know that you want to keep contact with the girls. Do it right now, before other patterns get set. Even narrow them down to a visit to be put on the calendars. I had to make every effort to see our Grands, even if it meant traveling both ways to their new place. Eventually ex DDIL realized that we wouldn't bad mouth her and things worked out better.

I did get a smile out of the difference between the girls. Our youngest DGrDs are the same and they live in a happy home with both parents. Eldest is the "whatever" girl , youngest is the diva - even got her aunt to give her pierced earrings for a birthday gift. Maybe rebelling to show she's different from her DSis. Keep praising her school work - she may not get much at home.

hugs,
Jacquie

I hope you get to see the kids even after the divorce Pat. When my daughter died her husband refused to let us have any contact with her boys. He sold the house and moved and we don't even know what state he is in or why on earth he went from our favorite son in law to some crazed stranger who pushed us away. Our daughter's oldest is our first grandchild and her youngest was named for her dad. It hurt us terribly so I know what you mean. Prayers for it to be a better situation for you.

HI Pat,

Just came on and found your post. It is amazing how quiet it gets after you have little ones in the house. You sound like a 'wonderful granny' and those little ones know that you love them. Stay as much a part of their lives as you can as they need all the love they can get from
