Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

If you start your holiday shopping right after Thanksgiving, do you choose Black Friday or prefer online shopping on Cyber Monday, the first Monday after T-Day?

If Black Friday was your choice, how did you survive it, and were you able to get some great bargains?

On the other hand, will you shop Cyber Monday instead, and how do you find the bargains you are looking for?

As for myself, I've never shopped either day, preferring to stay clear of the maddening crowds. Walking with a cane most of the time, I try to do any sort of shopping, even in the grocery, during times of the day when traffic is lighter. As for shopping online, I've never done that, and have no plan to start. I don't buy that much as it is, and I like the old fashioned 'hands-on' method....

What sort of preference do you have when it comes to your holiday shopping needs?

Not too sure when I am going to start shopping but I prefer it to be not too busy.

Have some mobility issues myself but thankfully we now have a public transit system which I use...I love it!

I live in Canada so Black Friday is not something I am that familar with.

Here in Canada at least Ontario where I live Boxing Day is the big deal for Sales.

We celebrate Thanksgiving in October.

It's getting closer but I usually buy only for my dd and my ds.

I have been a single mom for a long time so it's just been me and my two kids.

My ds just celebrated a birthday in November and my dd's is in December.

She was a Christmas baby twenty-four years ago...

It definitely is different now that they are older and my dd and my sil broke up almost two years ago so it's been hard.

I don't have any grand-children yet.

Someday maybe but I don't expect them to have kids in order to make me and grand-mother.

Just love this time of year.

It's twenty years ago this Christmas since I lost my beloved Mom and nineteen since my kid's dad and I went through a separation/divorce.

Probably will be a quiet day for my ds and I.

I invited my dd over.

Not too sure if she will come on not but that's her choice.

I am hoping she will but know she may have other plans.

Kind of getting excited about what I am going to get for each of them.

We had snow today so I am definitely thinking about Christmas and shopping.

Winter is here!

Neither! I definitely don't go near a mall on Black Friday, and I don't do that much online shopping either. I prefer to see and feel the item when possible. There are a few things that I can't buy locally but it doesn't seem like they will be on a Cyber Monday special except for free shipping.

I did go to the mall this weekend though. There was a good price until 1am on something I wanted to get dh for Christmas so I decided to go, and it turned out to not be very busy. I ended up going to a different mall on Sunday and again not very busy in the morning. Both days it got busier in the afternoon but not the kind of crazy busy from a few years ago before the economic downturn. Still, I'll try to do my shopping during the off hours if possible.

If I know exactly what it is I need to buy, I prefer to make the purchase online.
