The heavy winds that were to reach Western WA state arrived at 8 a.m., and are still quite gusty. The temperature is 46º, however, I'm not getting the downpour that was predicted on the morning news, even though I prepared for this stormy day a couple days ago when I did all my mowing. Spreading moss killer is my next move, for there is more rain expected in the next several days.

Finally got all the taxes mailed to the accountant so I boxed up 2009, shredded what didn't go on taxes, started sheets for 2010, cleared the junk off one desk, tossed old user manuals for everything we ever bought and found out my DH won't be here for Easter. My DSis is just recouping from the major ick she had so she called to say she won't be here either. (Don't want to risk getting our boy sick) And the cloudy to partly cloudy turned into real rain right after lunch and has gone all day. So my grocery shopping will wait until tomorrow. Also the errands I was supposed to get done in the next town over. Then my little man and I will watch the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie and eat stuff I'm not allowed on my diet. I have been sticking to the new Atkins diet and have only lost 8 pounds in the last month. And I haven't lost an ounce in the last week. And all eating lots of meat and eggs and just a few veggies. I am set to rebel. Big time. With pizza sauce.

Happy Easter everyone!

My big event for the day was to turn over and apply fertilizer to my raised veggie bed, then plant sugar snap peas & bush green beans. The soil in the bed warms up very fast. If we get a super cold night, I just lay bed sheets over the plants to protect them. We have a week of sporadic warm rain forecast, so seeds should sprout easily.

We made the decision on a contractor for the new driveway, so now the countdown begins. There is a lot of decorative rock & landscaping bricks we want to move before the road grader arrives to dig up the old gravel drive. Our DGrS is being employed to do this back breaking work.

Been slowly learning the routines on my WiiFitPlus and it is a better workout than I expected. I'm a bit sore this evening.

Not terribly exciting, but I'm delighted just to be able to walk out the door w/o a coat or boots.

Liz, if it's bad your way today, we'll probably get it tomorrow.

We still have fire in the fireplace insert and watched the bad weather from our living room.
