I could hardly believe my ears when I heard this news tonight. In view of her illnesses and the pain she has suffered for many years, her death comes as a blessing, for she is now at rest and at peace. To me, she was the most beautiful and the most talented actress of all time, and I loved every movie I ever saw that starred her and the various roles she played.

Although I am saddened by this news, I would not wish her to be alive and living the pain and imobility of her later years, so I fondly bid farewell to this courageous, most beautiful woman I've ever known, though never met in person.

Here's what Wikipedia's website tells about her and her life:

I don't blame your HD for falling in love with her in National Velvet! I know of a few guys that felt the same way! If that movie comes on and there's nothing else interesting, I'll watch it over, and over again! Some movies are like that. She had a special talent for that movie, and I don't know of another actress who could have done it better. Her talent was immeasurable and she always left one feeling that they saw one of the finest movies of all when they strolled out of the theatre.

I don't recall her movie, Butterfield Eight—think that is the title—but if it even appears on AMC, I'll be sure to watch it. I'm surprised that she only won two oscars in her lifetime.

She is at peace now, and will join her only true love, Richard Burton, after all these years apart....
