Have you embraced your grey?

My daughter was giving me a hard time for continuing to color my hair, but I'm not read for all the grey hairs (that she gave me, mind you) to start showing. I feel younger when my hair is dyed, and I'm not ready to embrace the grey yet. How about you?

I have been going grey since my early thirties. I gave up coloring it about 10 years ago and am proud of my white hair. I have even had it bleached on top to be "more" white lol. I do still have some pepper in the mix, but I have happily embraced my grey and show it off too!

I too embrace my white hair.   I 've had it a long time,,, I was very very light golden blonde so when it started turning it just kind of faded out.. so no huge change,,,  I like it...

I wouldn't say that I am embracing it, more like trying to make a truce! My hair is still more of my younger color than grey, but my temples are getting rather silvery and there are streaks of grey throughout the rest of my hair. Since I naturally have a range of colors from golden blond to dark brown, the grey doesn't stand out like it would on a head of all dark hair. My problems have more to do with the grey hairs having a different texture and they seem to be drier too, so my previous hair care routine isn't working well anymore.

I have never colored my hair. If I get to the point that I don't like the grey, I will dye it. I'm hoping that I will like the grey...I kind of like the silver color at my temples, if it all comes in that color it might be okay!

I was just visiting my cousin this weekend and he and I were talking about our "grey", actually white hair. It is a family heirloom I guess you would say. Both of our parents had thick cloud white hair and we both love our hair.

I even went so far as to have it bleached a bit a couple years ago to make it shine even more blinding white. So yes, I happily embrace my "grey"

I haven't embraced my white hair, yet.  I have almost black hair (my natural color) and am less than 25% white, so for now I am coloring it.  If the contrast wasn't so stark I would consider it.  A few months ago I talked with my hubby about stopping the dying and he stated that he was afraid that I might end up looking like the Bride of Frankenstein. LOL

Maybe if my hair was a beautiful white or if I had always been blonde, I'd let it go white.  However, if you've been a brunette all your life, it's like saying you just plain give up.  Why not say "Have you given up working out/running/whatever and embraced not being in shape?"  I'm not ready to look older than I feel, plus when you work with younger people you need to keep up.  Maybe it's just the industry I'm in.

Absoutely not!  I have dark hair and have been going grey for a long time.  Because I wear my hair short, I think the grey shows more.  I color my hair at home - using esalon.com, where you can create your own color.  I love eSalon because you can set it up on a regular delivery (it's cheaper that way) and you don't have to guess if you have the correct color each time you want to color.
