Hiya, Gayle! Soooo nice to see you over here on our 50 board! Welcome! In fact, we welcome all ages here, for there are those who enjoy our age group and they can come up with fun topics to discuss, as well as ask Q's about rearing their young families. It is a pleasure to have them here. Many of us have grandchildren, while others are

Hi Gayle and welcome!

I am Becky in Maryland, near Baltimore and Washington, DC. I was born and raised in NW Pennsylvania.

I have a DD 37 and a DS 34, both married, but not apparently interested in giving their Mom grandchildren to play with.

Hello, Marie! I am so happy that you came to visit our board, and just because it says *50* in the title does not exclude you from posting here! We have several who drop by from time to time and they're in their 30s and 40s, and we love to exchange conversations with them, and possibly brighten a darkening corner of their lives when something is really bothering them!

As you may have guessed, My name is Liz and I've been CL here since 1999, shortly after the board was born in iVillage by a woman wanting a place for her and others to go and associate with others in her age group. We have never turned anyone down from posting here, so you certainly have come to the right place!

To answer your confusion about abbreviations used here on iVillage boards, DD stands for *Dear Daughter*, DGS is short for *Dear Grandson*, DH means *Dear Husband*, etc. Below, is posted a website developed by an iVillager listing all the abbreviations we use here. You'll find it quite informative, but should you forget, don't hesitate to ask questions, and someone will gladly help you.

Our board is running rather slow at present, due mostly to the new upgrading and trying to get the hang of things when we've been used to the old system for so long. It is taking a while, but gradually, I'm sure you'll read more messages posted here as members meander back in.

If you have anything you'd like to talk about, do feel free to ask questions or start a topic that is of most importance to you. These ladies have known each other for several years and are very supportive, compasionate, and understanding of most any situation that troubles or elates our lives.

I live north of you, in WA state, in the country about a half hour from Seattle. I was born in this state and lived all my life except two years within a
