.............when I reached for it again, it was gone! Evaporated in my somewhat untidy kitchen (at the moment)! I feel stupid dashing around the island and the kitchen table, calling out "Napoleon? Where the heck are you?" Napoleon being the extra virgin bottle of olive oil I was using to cook my pancakes! Looks like I'll be cleaning up my kitchen to find him.....lol

Tell me this has never happened to you! You set something down, and when you reach for it again, it isn't there!

Every now and then, we need a Venting Post here on the board, and this one is mine! I keep telling myself...."I don't need this right now. I have 5 other things on my things-to-do list this morning as it is!"

Come back and tell me what you have to vent about today. I don't want to be alone in this delimma!

"Napoleon?", LOL Liz, maybe it's just a short bottle.

I lost a knife yesterday. I was using it at one counter, rinsed my hands and when I went back to use it it was gone.

I told my DH once that we had imps running through the house. I am constantly going to where something is only to find it gone and when I do find it it is somewhere so odd! I used a fingernail file and put it in a drawer just last week. My DH asked for it and when I opened the drawer it was gone. We found it on the floor under my chair, but I hadn't got up and the drawer is between two recliner seats on a large unit, not a separate table. And it was mere seconds between my dropping it in the drawer to when he asked for it! Hate that.

And once I was looking for a very important letter. I was completely alone in the house, DH on the road and Mason wasn't even born yet. I had put the letter on the kitchen table but it wasn't there. I made sure I cleaned the table completely off in my search. Nothing on it but a small candle holder. I cleaned the counter tops, swept the floor in case it fell off the table and slipped down around an appliance. And I repeated the whole procedure throughout my house. Needless to say, my house was spotless. So I get on the phone with my DH and I'm bemoaning the fact I lost the important letter and as I walk into my kitchen...there it sits, all alone except for the candle holder, on my kitchen table.

Ladies, the hairs on the back of my neck stood straight out. But, I was glad to have the letter. To this day I don't know how that happened. Not a soul came to my house and I lived a couple hundred mile from nearest family and friends. LOL

The worst thing here is when we put something "where we won't forget it", then promptly forget it. We even make a point of both of us watching where it goes, but to no avail.

LOL!!!!! They should invent different rings for the "clapper" ; then we wouldn't loose anything 8-)

Happens to me and the kids all the time. The "thing" you are looking just disappears. But a day or two later there is it -- poltergists, germlins

We once went on vacation with two other couples, in our campers, to British Columbia.
