Picked up the last gift today, so I'm ready for Christmas!
Good for you, Gayle! That's quite an accomplishment, working a job and yet able to get ready for Christmas two days before the big day! I am ready as well. My family didn't do presents this year, by popular vote. Instead, we pooled our resources and bought groceries and household items for a family member who is in dire straits and took everything up to his new home yesterday. The thankfulness, the tearful eyes and his expression of appreciation were all the presents I needed. Besides, at my age, I'm hard to buy for because I have about everything I need to get me by day after day. I plan to write more about this in a separate post of my own.
I'm sorry to hear that your old church may close its doors sometime next year. There's too much of this sort of thing going on these days. Your last service will be a lasting memory, I'm sure.
Our Christmas dinner will be at a restaurant of my youngest DD's choice, as I'm taking her and her DH out. We don't get together too many times during the year, and I want them all to myself on Christmas! Then, sometime during the day, I'll visit another DD who is home sick, and try to cheer her up with a Starbucks coffee!
At any rate, I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas, and will catch you back here before New Years, I'm sure! Thanks for checking in and letting us know about your holiday plans. HUGGS....
