Dovie, I have been watching it all morning, and
My heart goes out to all those people and their pets.
I'm hearing on CNN that the airport at Port au Prince is open.
You may recall that our youngest DS has gone there to work on the church school annually. Their last project was to build a kitchen so that the school children could have 1 good meal a day. They learned that some of the kids walked 30 miles on an empty stomach to get to school, studied all day, then walked home to a single meal of beans & rice. DS is coordinating supply collection and will head a group going there as soon as travel is allowed. If you have any local group sending supplies, one of the things they will need badly is personal supplies - Kotex, soap, power bars, hair & tooth brushes, tooth paste.
My little guy and I watched the report this morning before his bus arrived and we prayed for the victims and their loved ones. Such a horrible thing. I don't know the rules about items getting into that country but I hope everything they need can get to those who can use it.
1,300+ Canadians missing -- my prayers, good vibs, hopes, etc.
1,125 Canadian are still missing -- good vibs, etc. are working --- 8-)
We certainly keep all the missing in our prayers.
