Remembering Dick Clark, as the curtain falls on him...

As you may have read, a massive heart attack took his life yesterday at age 82. I fondly remember him back in the 50s and 60s when my three DDs and I followed him on American Bandstand, and several contest TV shows later on. There will always be a soft spot in our hearts for him...I wonder if anyone else could ever step up and replace him in the same 'Dick Clark way'. His shoes will be hard to fill...

He was one of a kind, I think.

I have happy memories of watching American Bandstand sometimes with the neighbor's kids when we came home from school (we did not have a TV in our own house at that time.)

I remember him well as my girls were at the age where American Bandstand meant to much to them. We had an old black and white Zenith TV on a rotary stand and it seemed we had to scrape up the last dollar to pay for it! lol My brother-in-law bought the first color TV back in the 50s and our families gathered at his house to crash on the floor with pillows and watch certai n TV programs.
