A Tale of Two Old Ladies....

A True story...

Two old ladies went to the same laundromat to wash clothes, and ironically, each absentmindedly left their cane behind. The canes were basically the same design—aluminum, extendable, curved handle, etc.

Realizing their loss, these two old ladies no doubt sought out the manager of the laundromat inquiring if their cane had been turned in.

Shame on that lying old lady who stole your cane! She should have known someone would be in to get it just as she was. Tsk Tsk Tsk You can't trust anyone anymore. I hope you find another cane as good as yours Liz. Or find out the guy who runs the place took it instead of the other lady. I'd like to let her off the hook. lol

Mine is dark blue aluminum with glittery flecks. One of those expandable ones. Has a few scratches where a certain little boy used it to fish a HotWheels truck out from under the sofa. LOL

The couple that run this huge laundromat are Asian, and very sweet people. They're always helpful, and many times they'll come out and help me roll my laundry cart inside when they see me unloading my van. They are hard working people and keep the place spotless clean and tend to all the machines and any problems that crop up, so I sure don't blame them!

I wash on days when I can hang the laundry outside in the sun and breeze, and that's what was on my mind that day. Besides, I've got my eye on a pretty shiny blue one at the local pharmacy for $15.00, so I'll see how the budget goes this month. It doesn't have the curved cushioned handle, but it would still serve its purpose.

Your cane sounds very pretty, and maybe I'll look around for something similar. I'm always misplacing one of mine—I have five!—two of which I bought at the Dollar Store, believe it or not! This way I can keep one in each room, for I never know when I'll need to use it. I need one with a remote control that I can "beep" to locate it! LOL

Hummm, if you happen to see the old lady who took your cane, perhaps you can whack her with the cane she left for you.

Maybe I should buy another cane myself! My DH got mine for me at the local Walgreens. I am forever forgetting where I put mine especially if I switch to the chair while I'm doing something. In rainy weather (like yesterday and today) I may start out with high hopes just using the cane, but need the chair to move after an hour or so. Or if I'm having a really good day and my hands are full I may walk gingerly on my own. Then I get off in the house and need the balance and can't remember where I put it. My guy is also very very fond of it because it fills in nicely for a 'rifle' and it isn't unusual to find him riding his 'horse' and wielding the 'rifle' over his head chasing some bad guy across a prairie. The remote control idea wouldn't work for me. I lose the tv remotes too easily.

The owners sound like very nice people indeed. I'm sorry if I made it sound like I was questioning their integrity. We need more honest people in this world. Maybe he could point out the error to the woman should she come back in there. Although she would probably just deny it. She may choose another place to do her laundry. Or do you think she could have gotten confused? Nawwww.
