What are your plans for Superbowl Sunday?

Yep....it's that time of year again! How did it get here so quickly? Superbowl XLV is this Sunday, and I'm thinking of the millions of people around the globe who will be watching and betting on their favorite team.

Speaking of favorite teams, is yours appearing in the game tomorrow, and if not, which one will you be rooting for? The Steelers, or the Packers? My vote will go for the Packers this year, since my team didn't get far in the playoffs! lol

Will you be planning a special party or get together tomorrow? Will you watch it on your own TV, or join family and friends at your nearest sports bar?

Here comes the most important question—food! If your group is gathering at home, what foods will you be serving? Anything new and inviting you'd like to share with us? Let's hear all about it!

We are hosting a small get-together. These are dh's college buddies, the group started this tradition in 1983 and there are a few who still continue it. It has changed over the years from a large gathering with kids included; now the kids are all grown and a few wives are history and a few people have moved too far away to attend (the remaining group live within ~2 hr drive of each other). Its the only time each year when we see some of them. It has always rotated between 4 homes in SoCal, now 3 because one of the couples moved out of state. Anyway this year we will be only 8, just as well because our den is small so we can't fit a crowd in there to see the tv.

I don't really care who wins, I'm not even a football fan unless my home team is playing and then I'm just mildly interested LOL. I guess I prefer the Packers because my dd's bf is a Packer's fan. She and he are in Wisconsin this weekend where I'm sure things are in a frenzy. She has no interest in football so I hope she's not too bored.

Our gathering is always potluck, with some of the contributions the same every year: one guy always brings fruit salad, another brings sushi. Someone else will bring a tossed green salad, another is bringing cheesecake and fresh strawberries for dessert. As hosts we're responsible for providing everything else...we are making smoked marlin tacos, beans (like refried but mashed in the crockpot so fat free), chips and salsa and guacamole, and beer and soft drinks.

I just stopped in while taking a break from housework but I need to get back to it.... hope everybody has fun on Sunday whatever you end up doing!
