I totally agree it's pretty rude for people to come to your house that early on a Saturday morning...but my assumption is, they just think if that's where the cars are and someone is selling them, they are eager to do business even very early.

For example, my mom and I have always had a garage sale at least once a year...and people will show up at 6 AM (sometimes earlier) even if the sale doesn't start until 7 AM! It is very annoying and we refuse to open the garage door or answer the doorbell etc, until the time designated in our ad.

I also go to others' garage sales/rummage sales pretty frequently in that "season" (March-October around here) and most start on Saturday mornings around 7-8 AM, so when I am "wheeling and dealing" as my grandfather would call it...I am up and out the door around 6:30 to get the best deals and be the "early bird", kwim? Even though on a regular Saturday (like today when it is cold) I sleep late :-)

But of course I would NEVER knock on someone's door until they were clearly open for business OR had agreed to meet me at X time! How rude!

Maybe you could suggest that in the future if your father-in-law sells something that is parked at your house, he puts a specific time on the ad...like no calls before/after a certain time? I don't know how much that will help if you are also getting people who didn't see an ad but stop by when they see all of these cars. I also just wouldn't open the door! ;-)

Hope they stop bugging you soon!

AND TO the other poster.. i have NO PROBLEM WITH people gettng out there to take care of business early.. i am a morning person when it comes to chores and errands myself.. j. cant uncerstand how and why i want to go grocery shoppin as early as possible.. or as late as possible.. i just dont like people in my way...lol.....

sometimes it seems to me that pa in law hasnt gotten the point that his son is a married man now and things are NOT THE WAY THEY USED TO BE.. before debbie.. it wouldnt have been a big deal if some guy was sitting outside at 630 am,... but i have a routine and that involves spending a couple of hours in my pj's and drinking coffee in no big hurry.. but when suddenly you
