Hi all.

I won't get into it too much because I'm busy trying to gather all of my information for tomorrow, but I have an appointment with my union rep tomorrow.

The "higher, higher ups" turned down my promotion and I'm gonna see if I can fight it. I deserve that promotion and I'm gonna get it!

I'm hoping the rep can lead me the way in getting the promotion. I am upset about the declination, but I'm also teed off as well.

I'll keep you updated on what happens.

Here's keeping my fingers crossed!

No, Kristie, you're not late...I had the meeting with the rep today. She changed our Friday meeting because something else had came up then, so we meet today instead.

She gave me some ideas of what I can do to fight the declination. She also brought up turning to a political figure to try to change the higher ups' decision. That's a daring move, I think, but if they turn down my appeal again, I just might have to turn to the political side.

She even spoke to HR over the phone about my case and HR is very well aware of my need for a promotion. They believe I deserve one, but with a hiring freeze, budget cuts, etc. going on, it's hard for them to promote me.

She was glad to hear my supe would write a letter to the higher ups for me in support of my appeal. It shows that he's willing to stick out his neck for me (other management types wouldn't do such a thing to help the support staff). It also shows that he believes I am a hard worker. She said that his letter should or could turn some of the higher ups' heads.

Overall, it was a very interesting meeting. I gained a lot of insight from the rep.

Thank you all for your support! We shall see what happens during the next couple of months.
