but I have to ask. Do companies (that you work for)record you when you call the Complaint Hotline? I work for a large company that has a number that you can call when one wants to voice a complaint about something. I called and complained. The lady took my complaint and said it was anonymous but now I wonder if I was secretely recorded. Any quesses?

I think laws vary by state, but in many places, you have to let the caller know in some way the call is being recorded. If you weren't told this during any point in the phone call, you may have signed some paperwork when you were hired stating that phone calls, emails, etc can and may be monitored. Many companies monitor phone calls, but like I said, are required (in most states) by law to let you know if that is their practice.

If you don't recall seeing anything about this when you were hired, you may want to check your local laws to see if monitoring or recording are legal practices.
