Dressing your age...

My DH and I have a friend who is actually in her mid 40s, but always seems to dress like she's 20.

I still feel that I dress young. I won't buy an entire ensemble in the junior department, but I might grab a sweater or a cute top from that area of a store. Or if there's a certain style of jeans I want and can't find in the "grown-up section," I'll wander over to juniors to see if I can find it there. I think you have to be careful browsing in that section because there is a fine line between "hip" and "ridiculous" that I think a lot of women seem to accidentally cross.

Hm... that is a good question. The last time I went shopping, I had to call my friend and ask her, "At what age is it no longer ok for me to shop in the junior's section...."

Now, I definitely appreciate nice clothes. My favorite places to shop used to be Nordstrom and Ann Taylor. That is... that is where I used to shop when I needed to look put together everyday for work. I'd say I made the switch in my early 20s. These days, I'm a lot more casual. I work for myself and comfort is more important than a business presentation. That and I spend a lot of my time chasing after a toddler. So I'm pretty much a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.

I don't spend as much on clothes these days. Old Navy or Express Jeans and t-shirts randomly from wherever. I like to be able to sit down and bend over without my butt crack hanging out. So as long as the waist of my jeans are high enough and my shirt is low enough to cover at least that much, I'm pretty happy. I don't care so much where I find my clothes. Juniors or Women. It just has to fit right. And really, is it ever going to be not okay to where jeans and a tshirt?

I'm t-shirt, jeans, sneakers all the way. I used to have a job where I had to look put together, and I had pants, shirts,

This is what I find tricky. I don't know what 30 year old wears. Since I'm overweight I don't want to look silly. I don't have any fashion since. I did when I was late teens until I had my oldest DD. Now I live in sweats and tops.

ACK! It took me a minute to realize you must have bought more than one pair of jeans...or Express has jacked their prices WAY up since the last time I was there! I haven't bought jeans from Express in a long time, but they were one of my favorite places to find jeans that fit. There just isn't an Express store nearby anymore. :(
