There seems to be a movement (that is growing) for making laws against using a cell phone in vehicle.

I just wish people would use more common sense. For example, driving in busy traffic or in the dark whilst having long conversations on your cell phone and/or text messaging...so ridiculous IMO. But OTOH, I occasionally check my voicemail at a red light and/or have a quick chat while on an open stretch of road...like calling my mom to say, "I'm headed to Aldi, do you need anything?".

I think the tough part about rules/laws regarding cell phone usage is knowing when a person is using it in a way that's dangerous.

colorado has that law... just went into effect the start of the year.. and while i think its a step forward.. I DONT SEE HOW THEY EXPECT LAW ENFORCEMENT to be able to PULL OVER EVERY car/person they see using the phone while driving..

I really don't think that we will be able to totally stop people from using their cell phones while driving.

i dont think your pushy... i think your right.. there was a little 9 yr. old girl who was walking home from school one day when mrs. multitasking was texting away on her phone and didnt notice the girl on HER BIKE and ran her over and killed her, that little girl is the reason colorado now has that law in place... thing that made me mad about that story... little girl dead.. woman who killed her got NO JAIL TIME.. she had to write the girls mom a apology letter!!!!!!!!!

Oh god, that poor mother - what was the judge thinking! Not only is the killer of her child not serving jail time but now she gets to read a letter from the killer who is getting off scott free....eek...

I have a friend who beleives that texting is the "new smoking" - it's social, it is
