I hope you all had a great weekend!!
We had a good weekend.
Good morning (afternoon here, now)! :-)
I don't follow football and didn't watch the Super Bowl, but I was still happy to hear the Saints won because I think that's good for New Orleans post-Katrina...boosting their local morale at least! And a friend of mine was hoping they would win because she is headed to Mardi Gras and thinks that would add even more excitement to the festivities this year.
I had a fun weekend...the high was seeing The Color Purple (off Broadway) and hanging out in downtown St. Louis. It was GREAT! The weather wasn't an issue at all, and I think everyone watching the Super Bowl made traffic a lot easier!
The low of my road trip weekend, though, was butting heads with my friend quite a bit. We have strong personalities and different ways of seeing things at times...it's usually fine, but we were together for 2 straight days and it wasn't the smoothest ;-P
I hope you all had a great weekend!! Did your super bowl team win? What were the highs and lows of your weekend? Do you have any plans for today?
The weekend wasn't as good as I wanted it to be because I started to feel like I might be getting sick on Friday and woke up Saturday morning with a fever and really sore and swollen throat! So we didn't do much Saturday. We did manage to go for a slow leisurely walk since the weather was so nice and I think the fresh air did me good! And then got some soup at Panara -- also seemed to help. Sunday we had our home inspection which went pretty well. There are a few things we're going to ask the seller to do, but the house is in pretty good shape. After that, we went to Jeremy's friend's house about an hour away for their super bowl party. I felt like I was going to fall asleep the whole time, but they had some really great chili and I actually watched and even sort of paid attention to the game for a bit. I'm not a football fan at all and I still don't see what people see in it. So although I didn't even know who was in the game before we got there, I found myself hoping the Saints would win it by half time and was happy when they did. I still don't really understand 1/2 the rules of football though so it can get confusing. And I'm not interested enough to learn them. I've had people start explaining it to me, and I totally zone out within 5 seconds and can't process what they're saying because I'm so bored. But it was nice for Jeremy to get together with his friends that he's had since high school. And the super bowl party is a pretty easy event for me to hang out with his friends, so I don't mind.
No plans for today. I called in sick to one of the schools I teach at and slept in and blew my nose all morning. I have a class from 2:50 to 5 at another school though and they have a test today that I really couldn't postpone. Since I don't have to do anything but sit here, it's easy enough to do. I'm actually giving the test right now!! Hopefully the occasionally blowing my nose doesn't gross them out or distract them too much. I can't wait to get out of here, pick up some fresh soup from Whole Foods and go back to bed. I'm not sure if I'll make it in to work tomorrow!
