A guilty wife...I need help

Hello there. I'm a serious procrastinator. On everything! Especially when it comes to buying presents, like, for birthdays and Christmas. I think about going out and getting something then I put it in the back of my mind, do it later. Well, I forget about it until the very last minute. I don't think it's just me to forget, I also think that I don't want to get a gift. I know that sounds pretty crude to say, but that's how I feel sometimes.

My husband got pretty upset with me that I didn't get him anything for his birthday even though he said not to worry about it. I think what really hurt him was that I said is that I'm not sure what to get him. I know everything about him, what he likes, but sometimes it's hard to find a gift for a man, a man who has pretty much everything, you know what I mean? I think I need serious help! LOL

Anybody have any tips and advice on how I stop being such a procrastinator? I've had this problem most of my life, I'm 30 years old and I want to do this now, how do I do this?? Please help me!

When I don't know what to get people, I usually go with food! Like that old saying, the way to a man's heart is thru his stomach" ;-)

Nuts, candy, baked goods, pie, cookies

a basket of expensive crackers & nice jelly, mixed teas - (I've used this as more of a girl's theme though, the teas)

What fruit does he like, make a pie

Is he a healthy person instead, make home made granola, get raisins & almonds to go with his morning oatmeal, get organic versions & some organic granola, or imported Irish oatmeal. Wrap them up together in a nice basket, or shiny bag

Does he like chocolate, visit the Godiva store

Can't go wrong with steak & BJ for birthdays, as long as you don't over cook it

Or go to a liquor store with a varied beer selection, get some seasonal versions, or imported varieties

a gift card to starbucks, a new travel mug, a bag of starbucks coffee - or whatever his coffee store is

Gift card to the fishing or hunting store (I know I wouldn't know what lures to pick out)

It doesn't always have to be different, or super terrific. But something to say, Hey Babe, thinking of you!

I even thought I might get him really fancy French men's underware. I saw the site mentioned on a blog.

I also procrastinate!! I'm wondering when I'll have time for pie between now & Thanksgiving, but that's the price I pay for being a procrastinator. I'll be up late Wednesday or early Thursday.

Good distraction frees us from emotional pain, bad distraction gives you a mouth full of whizz. ~~~ Guru Tugginmypudha

Thanks girls. I was hoping I wasn't the only one out there! I got him a couple of movies (Star Trek and GI Joe) and he loves them. So now I got to find X-mas gifts. We really can't go too spend crazy because we're really tight on our budget.

As far as the procrastinating thing, wish me luck! LOL Thanks again!
