Not to get all political in response, but...

"Health care for everyone" has a nice, feel-good, warm and fuzzy ring to it. Of course, we want all people to have access to care -- but we have to be careful about what is just marketing lingo versus actual health care access and coverage.

Government-run health care does not mean "free" health care. (I think some people think it is truly a free ride.) In the end, anything run by the "government" is paid for by taxpayers (you and me).

Combine that with the fact that the goverment would become both a competitor and regulator in the market, and you have trouble.

I do think the health care system is broken and needs help, but the fact that the president is in such a hurry to push through MASSIVE reform without time to consider all the ins and outs is truly frightening.

In the end, any rushed decisions will ultimately hurt the people the "reform" is supposed to help -- all the average citizens like you and me. We pay the cost in terms of taxes, as well as potential decreases in quality of care (look at Canada's system and how long people have to wait for surgeries and treatment).

AJ, enjoying life with C.

Can I brag?? Here in UK we've had our dearly beloved NHS - National Health Service - for many decades. We basically have free (tax funded)

You know the major thing I hate about all of this is that they seem to be in such a big rush.
